Dr. Valerie Johnson is a board certified diagnostic radiologist, specializing in breast imaging. She received her undergraduate training and Doctorate of Medicine degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. She completed a residency program in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in ultrasound and computed tomography at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, AL in 1984. She began interpreting mammography images and helped pioneer breast ultrasound imaging and galactography at UAB during her fellowship. She has been a member of the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the Society of Breast Imaging (SBI) for over 20 years. She has been interpreting mammograms and performing breast physical examinations and ultrasound examinations for over 25 years. She is a woman of faith, is married and the mother of three children.

and certification, to perform medical imaging.
